This October, Healing with Spirit celebrates 20 years of serving the community. 
What began in 2006 has grown into a multi generational, multi disciplinary approach to spirituality & wellness, rooted in healing, connection, community, advocacy, and transformation.
This celebration is also a dual opportunity to honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the importance of creating spaces where people are seen, heard, supported, and believed.

Featured Domestic Violence Organization: Shaquera Story
Shaquera Robinson is a mother of three, first-generation college graduate with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education(President of ECE Program 2004), Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (Suma Cum Laude class of 21), and a Master of Public Health degree(2023).
Shaquera’s background in education expands over 20 years, from the roles and responsibilities as a primary educator, to the commitment of a dedicated team player, where her leadership roles have earned her the parent-partnership recognition awards. As a transformational influence amongst her peers and colleagues, Robinson is an affirmed visionary, a motivational speaker and educator across academic and public sectors.
Activism and advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic violence abuse, are two of the many hats worn by Robinson. Most would say that she wears a purple heart on her sleeve, with a smile of grace and love for humanity. Shaquera’s lived experiences through adverse childhood traumas of rape and molestation, to the domestic abuse by a former partner, not only qualifies her as an expert of the public health issue, but as she says, “it ran in the family until it ran into me”.)
Shaquera Robinson has answered the “call” to disrupt and prevent the cycle of violence through Shaquera’s Story Domestic Violence Consulting & Coaching. As the CEO/Founder and Executive Director, Robinson and her team are committed to standing in the gaps at every intersection of the safety processes in efforts to seeking justice for those whose lives are impacted by domestic violence behaviors and legal ramifications.
Shaquera shares a voice of impact as a consultant to community organizations, has researched and implemented domestic violence awareness trainings and workshops, all while leaving a lasting impression within the communities she serves. From volunteering on political campaigns, to creating safe spaces for families in crisis, to the outreach initiatives that embrace free back to school events and the transformation of systems through her audacious work to remove community silos. Shaquera serves as a mentor to Master of Public Health and Criminal Justice graduate students across multiple universities and states.
Shaquera Robinson is a visionary, an influencer, and a force to be reckoned with. Robinson recently added published author to her name, as she wrote the book, This Little Light of Mine: a Memoir. This books serves as a testament to those who have been faced with adversity after adversity and still found light in the darkest moments. Robinson’s mantra is “we all we got”, as she continues to break generational trauma by enhancing her values of family and service through her everyday commitment to the people, communities, and mitigation strategies of public policy justice. Robinson credits her children for their support and resiliency that drives her passion to continue to shed light and making the world a better place for all.
