Reiki – Usui/Jikiden Traditions
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a simple form of energy healing from Japan known as “Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho”, which translates as “Usui treatment for the improvement of body and mind”.
Reiki is a Japanese hands-on and distant healing modality and personal meditation practice that is natural and non-invasive.
Reiki balances body, mind, heart, and spirit in a structured way through light, gentle, non-intrusive touch and compassionate intention and regard. The human body was designed to heal itself. Reiki taps into the body’s innate abilities.
This form of healing is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one is frequently sick or under a lot of stress, the chances are one’s life force energy is low. Now if the life force is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
“Reiki is compassion in action.” – Chiyoko Yamaguchi
Reiki can be used as a personal tool for healing and growth, as a way to give supportive energy to family and friends, and as a complementary therapy to holistic, naturopathic, alternative and conventional medicines among an almost unlimited number of beneficial purposes. A Reiki treatment simply supports the whole person physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually while drilling down on specific issues. Reiki is easy to learn and can be used in a home or clinical setting to enhance the health and emotional wellness of both self and others.
Reiki complementary with all other alternative or traditional medical treatments, but not recommended as a substitute. If you would like to learn more about reiki, please read, “What is Reiki”

Reiki is not just for people. Our pets love it too.
Here is what one pet owner had to say:
“Laura has been a true blessing to my family, and most certainly to my little Gizmo! Her animal reiki sessions have been an amazing and positive experience each and every time.
When I had to take my 15 year old dog to the vet and Laura had felt it was “kidneys, possibly stones” she was right on. My vet was even amazed after his ultrasound showed kidney stones and I told her Gizmo has been recieving reiki on a regular basis and one of the reasons I brought him to be checked.
I always feel better after a session knowing that he will be comfortable and happy.
Thank you so much, Laura, for all you do and have done for us! “
